One of the greatest sporstmen ever, he started his cricketing career with Surrey Cricket Club scoring 52 centuries for them in a long and illustrious career. He went on to represent England National Cricket Team in a Test Match, and was also a Wisden Cricketer of the Year. In additon to that he was also a very successfull football player representing Arsenal F. C.( then known as Woolwich Arsenal), Aston Villa ( most successful English Club back then) and Fulham F. C.
He played for England National Football Team six times. He was an FA Cup winning captain at Aston Villa. After his retirement as a player, he managed Fulham F. C. for two seasons.
